Grooming your child and growing with your child can be fun. Starting from crafts to games, you get to engage with them via various fun activities. It is usually recommended that parents should inculcate a good quality or teach them something while playing with them. These days, a lot of emphasis is laid on spoken and interpersonal skills. One of the best ways to make sure that your kid speaks well is to make him/her learn new words every now and then. Wondering how? Well, Medhaam daycare with preschool program is happy to help. Today, we will learn how to teach new words to your kids in a fun manner on a daily basis.

Teach them some new words
Generally, kids lack the excietment at the prospect of learning something new. This is because they find it boring and tedious at times. On the other hand, they find games engaging and exciting. So, if you wish to teach them new words, create a fun-loving environment. You can take help of songs, movies and what not. Here are some of the fun-loving ways of teahcing your kids new words:

The “Dikki” timer.
Tose a dictionary (called “dikki”) to your kid and teach them how to find a word. Boring? Wait and read. Tell them to find any random word in a stipulated period of time say 45 seconds or a minute. This will involve a lot of flipping but excitement too. In this manner, your kid will learn how to make a good use of a dictionary. The sooner they learn this, the better it is for their intellect. Repeat this activity and keep exciting rewards. Your kid will start learning new words.

Songs and rhymes.
If A for apple, then what is B for? Is is always ball? Or can it be billion? Well, in this manner, your kid will always get to know a new word rather than the traditional alphabet one. Such basic English words for kids will allow them to expand their mental horizons.

Speak with them in English everytime.
The best way to learn words is to use them and keep doing that. At Medhaam daycare with preschool program, we try to make sure that the teaching staff as well as the students communicate in English. You can try it at home. Make them use words in general, form sentences etc. Start with simple words such as “smile”. If he/she understands its meaning, he/she can know its various forms and apply them when speaking. This is why learning new words are essential. Enroll your kid at our care preschool to make them develop brilliant interpersonal skills.

Play Scramble and other word games.
Make your kid play crossword, scramble and other games. This will help them pick new words. A time will come when they will pick up their “dikki” and will look up the meaning themselves.

Progress slowly towards big words.
Your child’s quest with words shouldn’t end at small words. Make them progress towards compound and big words. It can be observed that most Spelling Bee champions in the US are of Indian origin, which tells us something about us. So, make your child learn big words. But don’t force them. Let them be awe-inspired with the beauty of English language.

Gift them books and make them watch movies.
Start giftung Children’s Classics to your child. Make reading a habit for them just like we have done at Medhaam kid's day care & kindergarten. You can also make them watch movies made for kids. In this manner, they will pick up new words and will even develop their accent.

Love for other languages?
Gone are the times when kids were expected to be fluent in only Hindi and English. Nowadays, a foreign language is a bonus. Make your kids try learning other languages as well. It might pique their curiosity and they can turn into brilliant linguists.
