Try preparing a 'Visual Schedule' for them.
Visual schedules are a wonderful way to set your day up for success as they give children a clear idea of what the sequence and expectations of the day are. In these difficult times when anxiety is at its peak, these day will schedules help your child stay calm and allow you to make time for work from home.
Children are already used to following a schedule in school & daycare, following a similar schedule at home will give them a sense of normalcy.
- Do ensure to include pictures in your schedule as preschoolers still may not be able to read
- Let children be a part of planning the schedule for the day
- Put up the schedule on the fridge or anywhere children can easily see
- As far as possible try to stick to the schedule
- Reward the child for following the schedule
- Make it fun
