How to Properly Care for Curly Hair for Kids - 7 Tips That Help

There are many children with curly hair at Medhaam preschool Gurgaon, and their adorable goldy locks draw the attention of teachers, caregivers, nannies, parents, and guardians. Even though curls receive a lot of pleasing compliments but ask a mum who puts in huge effort to keep them beautiful. It's the morning struggle against combing woes in their homes, and the day ends trying to tuck the curls behind the ears or uncovering that kid's eyes.

So its a natural thought to cut short their hair before enrolling them in a daycare in Gurgaon especially because of the weather here. As you fret that if not managed properly your child may find it hard to focus in school activities because they are not mature enough to manage his/her curls. But, honestly there is no need to take a haircut on your little one's curly hair just because he/she is going to a daycare. Your children are in good hands at Medhaam Preschool and Daycare, Gurgaon as our caregiveres are well trained in taking care of individual needs of each child.

Tangled hair are not a cause for concern as long as they are dealt with correctly. Here are a few easy tips and tricks that moms of curly-haired children can use to ensure a comfortable combing routine every morning. Please scroll through the tips below and tell us if they helped you!

  • Don't brush curly hair: When you brush them, they break. You should use a wide-toothed comb for the front hair and a gentle comb for the ends.
  • Use your fingers to detangle the remaining hair: Put some coconut oil on your hands and detangle when the going gets tough. A mild kids' hair detangler is also a good option too. Hair detanglers help to keep knots from adhering to curly hair since they prevent them from sticking.
  • Don't use excessive shampoo: In comparison to straight or wavy hair, curly hair has less moisture. Using shampoo once or twice a week will preserve your natural oils.
  • Selecting the Right Shampoo: Ensure that the shampoo you use is paraben and sulfate-free. After washing their hair, make it a habit to apply their leave-in conditioner.
  • Comb wet hair: You should not comb the entire length of your hair when it is dried.
  • The Oil It Right Way: Whenever you have curly hair, you should oil it regularly because curly hair tends to become frizzy if you don't oil them.
  • Blot wet hair with a mild cotton towel: You should not rub wet hair. Use light towels instead of heavy ones. If you overexert and strain your hair, this will result in hair loss.

Last but not least, protect your child's locks and do not allow her to develop a negative attitude toward her hair. No matter how difficult it may be to manage curly hair you should never tell your child that their hair is hard to manage. They will realise how important it is to have healthy hair as they grow older. In other words, once they establish a hair care routine, they will use the method to take care of their tresses.
